Hi Tigerlilly!

I've got the upmost respect for people who can teacher KS3 & 4! I panic enough about the size of the kids when I take a class up to secondary for Xmas concerts etc!

I've got a tip... don't accept it! Call for help as soon as you need it, from the

t if there looks to be trouble. You shouldn't have to put up with that, don't. Verbal abuse/harassment isn't acceptable! Easy for me to say, when I shout the kids listen coz they're only little, but these are still kids. I hope that really was a vile class and not representative of Year 9s generally. I think we ought to send 50% of teenagers on that The World's Strictest Parents programme!

Sorry, not much help, but don't be afraid to ask for help, and can you avoid going back to that school?!

Sounds like you had a grim day.

Good advice from Nutty, don't go to that school again. Also don't be afraid to go to the HT and state that the behaviour is not acceptable and you need back up, then if none is coming, tell them that you won't teach them any longer and go home!

Sorry, maybe not that helpful and meant to be, but seriously don't put up with it!

Can't help more as you are talking about alien Year 9.
