I know the mathsphere CD-ROM has lots of word problems, so it might be worth trying their website.

QCA produce a book of problem solving for more able pupils, which is free (no longer in print, but they managed to send me one when I asked nicely). I see no reason why the problems in that should be confined to more able pupils.

I also have some excellent books of problems solving exercises, but they are at school and I can't for the life of me remember the publisher. If I remember I'll have a look on Monday and let you know. I'm a bit full of champagne and wine at the moment to be able to remember anything (God, life in a private school is tough!!)

I have just registered with 10ticks.co.uk it looks really good, loads of maths problems but haven't looked closely yet. You can buy packs for particular ages.

On the maths problem solving front, my top set Y5 were doing these today... I used to do them all the time with my dad when I was younger!

There is also the Pitch and Expectation questions on the Maths part of the renewed primary framework website. I think they are in the assessment part. Really good as they are old SAT questions and have levels on.
