Podcasting / using new technologies

Is anyone interested in using this in school? (I know it's difficult on day to day supply.) I'd really like to know more about it and find out what experiences others have had with it.

lessons on BBC Online were a real boost to the lessons!) I also use my MP3 player as much as I can... but...

I don't know what a podcast is! There's some on our local newspaper's website... will have to check them out... how would you use them in school? Am very interested, used to be ICT Co-ordinator, and have lost touch somewhat!
