Default Rainforest fact file!

Hi all!
Basically Ive been called in to do supply tomorrow it might be just the morning it might be all day! All I know is the children (Yr 3/4) are going to be making fact files about the Congo rainforest and thought id ask if they havent already started doing this how would I go about making fact files with them? Im sure they would already have the information they need!

Also if I do have to stay all day do you think I should do a rainforest based activity in the afternoon and have you any

As for the afternoon, if there is no work set, how about giving the children maths challenges based on the rainforest (hopefully, this wouldn't 'step on the class teacher's toes' and cover something she has planned for later in the term...)
Maybe give them a sheet with the height of different rainforest animals or trees and get them to work out different ways of putting the animals together to make a tower the same height as a specific tree, writing their own maths problems and solving them (e.g. what 2 animals are the same height as 3

Thank you! Im hoping she has left some sort of guidance on the fact file but Im sure the class assistant will know what she is looking for! I found a powerpoint 'who wants to be a millionaire' on rainforests, I think theyve done a bit of work on it so should be ok!
