Default A couple of P/T jobs

We need a part-time French teacher and a P/T Spanish teacher, for our new on-line school, approx 6 hr / week.

Can I advertise this here ? Moderator let me know if that's OK !

That's fine! I'll move it into the Jobs, Jobs, Jobs section though... any more details though? What level will they be working at? Primary/Secondary? Hours?

Thanks!

Would you like me to check your covering letter, CV, supporting statement or application form?

How did u do that ?! :)

Secondary, beginners level at first, but to (I)GCSE level for some students perhaps by Feb.

CRB check preferred (tho' we'll do it if not available, out-of-date).

Hours not sorted yet - but will be between 9-30am and 2pm, partially-negotiable.

School website

How does your online school work? (Have had a quick look, but for the record!)

As a student, the pupils apply, pay us a fee, we meet them (to make sure they are real people), then get access to the school website, and appropriate classrooms.

We teach by a mixture of text chat, microphone interaction (one-to-many, with anyone able to hold the mic to speak, but controlled by the teacher), presentations and whiteboards (tho' we've not tested the integrated whiteboard stuff yet !).

The kids are great, and enjoy the new medium, and the direct teaching without interruptions (unless they turn MSN on !).

The best part (for me, a teacher) is when someone's out of line, they can be told by private text; if they persist, they can be temporaily ejected at the press of a button; if they persist further, permanent ejection is possible - easy, peasy !

It sounds great! I'd love one of those perm. ejector buttons on my desk at school! [smilie=rk01_non6benvenuto.gif]

Thanks for the info...

I have only used it once, and that was by mistake (pressed the permanent eject button instead of the "go out of the classroom to cool off" button !)

Default Posts filled now - but maybe more later !!

We've filled the vacancies now, from here or the TES website, I'm not sure. But thanks for letting us chat here.

We hope to expand - tell disaffected kids in the schools you visit about the alternative we offer !!

There may be more work in a few months

Default Not so sound

No, no Primary. And the educational practices are not so sound - I resigned over child-protection issues - as well as lack of concern about poor delivery (the organisers REFUSE to use microphones to chat with the kids). Ah, well ...
