Default Interview PANIC

Hi there
I have been called for interview at a school that I would love to work with. I have been asked to teach maths for 30mins to year 4. I have very little expience at this age and am working thorugh my plan now. Just want some reasurrance. I thought that I would teach 2D shape lines of symmetry and get the class to fold cut out shapes (pre cut) as an investigation activity. To challenge G&T ask if circles have lines of symmetry - how many?
Do you think this would work, pitched at right age. I have checked PNS etc and think so.

for g&t perhaps could be that they estimate how many lines of symmetry there are before they start?

Good luck and let us know how it goes! x

Congrats, and that sounds good..
More able could draw a shape of their own (time allowing!) with 2 lines of symmetry maybe too once they'd folded and recorded yours?
Think about how you want them to record their answers, are you going to try and sort the shapes at all? Or record as a class on the IWB maybe?

Sounds good.... another extension activity could be to explore sides with lines of symmetry (regular polygons)?
