Nutty I hadn't even thought of Christmas concert. I will definitely ask if I get it. I am fairly musical (I like to think) and if it is only being responsible for primary music then that would be ok. I've got a friend who has offered to teach me piano for ages and I've put it off so maybe I'd get him to help me if I got it.

Well I got the second interview, it's on friday so going to work through those example questions that luclu posted on the other day. Been scouring TES as well and this one came up, what would you answer

"Our parents have very high expectations, how would you respond to a parent whose child wasn't achieving as well as they expected."

I'm not sure, it's very difficult because my normal response would be to suggest some additional work at home, plus keeping an eye on them in lessons and targetting specific difficulties that I came across (not that you don't do that already) what else could you add????

ask them what they were expecting the child to achieve? then this could lead into them helping at home? Turn it back onto them!! Just an

There're a multitude of reasons why the parents would say this, and why the child may not be achieving... so like Footie said, I'd ask the parents 'in what way?' first off, then rattle on about target levels... the if a kid arrives in KS2 at 2c, they're barely expected to be a 4c in y6, or 2a should be 4b etc... can't remember exact levels though!!

Thanks for all the good luck messages but they are no longer needed. Agency called today and said school interviewed someone today and loved them so offered them the job. Bit bummed cos I didn't even get the chance but if they already loved the other person I would have had to knock their socks off to be hired above them so it's possibly a good thing.

Oh no! That's quite cheeky really, to invite you to interview and then choose someone before they've finished?? Probably illegal actually!!!!!!
