I would give details of any time whilst teaching that you have been concerned with a child's safety and have reported it to the Child Protection Officer of the school and when you have had an issue with a parent which you helped to resolve.

Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks and guidance.

Look up the Preschool/Nursery/Early Years frameworks on the internet and include details of your research in the form? Try

Hi everyone,
know this post was quite a while ago but just got a letter saying I have an interview for it. I'm thrilled. I have been feeling realy downhearted this week, I'm not enjoying being back on supply at all and had even been thinking about looking for an alternative career but this has given me fresh hope!! So now I'm really nervous but at least i've got over a week to prepare, as well as packing up the old house and decorating the new house, phew!! So the job is for a programme coordinator in an NCH nursery, here is the job description

Key Responsibilities

1. To manage and maintain local community consultation, participation and involvement in Children’s Centres so that effective and accessible family support, outreach and other core Children’s Centre services are delivered.

2. Delegate responsibility for the day to day operational management of the Centres.

3. To ensure the use of Children’s Centre buildings is coordinated and linking with local partners to enable others to deliver or access services from these and to maintain a safe working environment.

4. To assist the Programme Manager in evaluating and maintaining the local operational service delivery plan and ensure core services are delivered to agreed standards.

5. To gain parental involvement in all aspects of service development and delivery – including parent’s forums and active participation in Children’s Centres Partnership and Government arrangement.

6. To supervise, manage and direct members of staff through regular formal sessions and provide ongoing informal support.

7. To assist the Programme Manager to maintain and review appropriate local governance arrangements which meet SureStart Children’s Centres expectations.

8. To assist the Programme Manager to develop necessary protocols, procedures, service level agreements etc which support the delivery of local services and the smooth operational running of Children’s Centres.

9. To participate in the recruitment, selection, training and professional development of staff as directed by the Programme Manager.

10. To have responsibility for organising a delegated budget in accordance with NCH Financial Regulations.

11. As directed by the Programme Manager to gather relevant information and maintain effective monitoring systems which assist in reviewing and evaluating services and contribute to further development of services to children and families.

12. To deputise for the Programme Manager as appropriate.

13. To forge links with and assist other local developments and partnerships as agreed by the Programme Manager and Partnership Board.

14. To assist the Programme Manager by creating and providing presentational briefings and update information to stakeholders and other partnerships as directed.

15. To regularly report as requested to the Programme Manager and Partnership Board.

I'm not sure I know how to help with this - wish I could be a bit more helpful. I would have thought relating as much of it as you can to your teaching experience is the way to go and probably talking about national agendas such as Every Child Matters. Safety etc will be a big priority, parents collecting children, named contacts, child protection etc.

Think if it was me, I would visist a nursery and try and get some
