Skiteacher, very jealous that you're going to Cornwall this weekend, I have to wait 'til late August! Also, be careful which schools you call, check your contract, the agency may have you over a barrel if you work in any they put you in touch with, without going through them...

ohh, lovely Nutty, keeps you on your toes!

THank you for point about agency contract, will look at that, but it certainly didn't have a list of schools. I was also going to put in the letter that I was with the agency, so I could work through them, or directly. Will check it out though"

OOhh, clarabelle, all exciting, what have you got in mind for the business? (have I missed something?)

It's just so we can save some money from tax and get mileage expenses etc. Nothing too exciting!

Clarabelle... the easiest, quickest way to set up a Ltd company is through

I've done it twice with them now... pay for the cheapest (Entrepreneur I think) and you get all the documents you need emailed the following day! They register it with Companies House, but go onto Companies House online WebCheck first, to check the name is available. Then you need to sign up for HMRC online filing... easy as pie... you shouldn't need an accountant at all! I'm currently trading/helping to trade 4 different companies (yep, loads of spare time huh!), and they just get the accountant to check stuff over at the end of the year before they file it online...

Just fire away if you want any help... btw, if the accountant's charging, shop around... as we're doing webfiling etc., ours, for our new company, which hopefully will have a great big turnover, is only costing us £400 a year... and has already saved us £248, and we haven't even started trading! It does help that I've done all this sort of stuff in a former life, but still, we've been quoted £000's by some accountants, they wouldn't recognise that we'd do a lot of the stuff ourselves.
