I suppose the truthful answer is "Yes!" although it's easy for me as I get up at that time anyway to get my own kids ready for school.
Most of my work is pre-booked but, on non-booked days, after 8am I don't expect a phonecall so I just get on with my day - if they do call after 8am, I'm ready to go or I turn it down if I've then

Good luck

I have just started an induction post but worked as a supply teacher for a year. I was usually ready for 7.30ish. Make sure you keep ringing the agency asking for work. I pestered my agency initially but once I started working for them and built up a good reputation it was the other way round! Don't worry, the work will come and believe me in a few months time you will be willing the phone not to ring on the odd occasion! Good luck!

As the last post says (well said La vie est belle), you need to pester the supply agency!

They will tend to use their established teachers first (schools will often request the same teachers) so you need to keep asking until they find you some work - and then hopefully, the schools will start asking for you by name and you'll be inundated!

One school I worked with regularly through an agency, used to pre-book me by sending me an email or phoning me direct and then they would tell the agency what we'd arranged. This worked really well and meant they would even rearrange dates to suit me!!

ps here's some more chocolate for you - after all, you're worth it!!
