Red face Tax free schemes/ own supply agency

I have a friend who worked through RACs as a supply teacher. She did save money on tax. When she decided to stop using the service it was a real ball ache and cost money to close the limited company. She was propa pisssed!
Setting up an agency for myself has been a thought for a while. I have only come across two people who have done so. It seems logical to earn a higher daily rate by undercutting agencies who charge very rates and collect bonus' also. Any thoughts?
Apologies for red wine typos. I'm not working tomorrow.
