After a year now of being a young female NQT teacher i have found with year 11, especially as i look about twenty and they all think im still at uni ,that a bit of sarcasm and a sense of humour goes a long way along with reasoning and making sure i follow through with punishments if they step out of line. I found the classes where i tried to appear ultra disciplined and didnt let my personality shine through were the ones in which i got the least respect.
