Default Got some work - how much pay?

Hi all

Well it's happened - I've been offered my first bit of teaching. It's one afternoon a week until half term (for now) doing PPA cover in year 1.
I'm very excited and nervous (after not teaching for a number of years). The nice thing about this, as my first assignment, is I know the class (having helped them in reception last year) and the work will be planned.

On a side note, I am trying to establish where I am on current payscales. I taught from 1994 to 1998, in a secondary school, so was on the old payscales then (and on point 5 when I left). Does anyone know where I would be placed now as a returner, transfering to primary?

Thanks
Rachel

I believe that it is at the schools discretion as to which payscale you are on but this may only apply to contracted work. You could contact the pay

section at the council and ask them. If it is any help I was on scale point 3 and got £48 for working an afternoon.

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't put you on MS5 then? Or if you worked enough in that final year, then they should put you up to M6?

Congrats on the position, enjoy, and let us know how you get on... bet you get loads of supply work from them too now!
