Question Resources & training

Hi, I posted before about the fact I am going back to teaching after career break, and also converting from secondary to primary.

I decided to speak to the school where I have been volunteering for the past year and a half, helping in classrooms and with small groups. The upshot is they have signed me up to their 'in house' supply list which I hope will bring some hours and there is a possibility of some maths teaching at some stage too. I decided to leave it at this for now and reassess once my DD is settled in school and then I may approach other local schools directly.

However now I've done that and the new term approaches I'm getting nervy! It's been some time since I was employed let alone let loose in a classroom - and it suddenly seems quite daunting.

Somebody on here mentioned doing a returners course but I cannot commit to one as my nearest seems to be Roehampton 2 days a week and I can't make this because of the kids/school run etc. The headteacher at ths school mentioned that the local authority training company (VFours) run refresher & returners courses (or something) - does anyone here know anything about these, or any other possibilities?

Also if there any great resources/reading you can recommend to help support my getting into primary etc I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Rachel

for other courses provided by them, many are free. I am doing a course on letters and sounds in November and using and applying maths in January both are free of charge so it is worth asking.
