Default Good stories for Yr 3 and 4

Hi, I have done my first afternoon supply at a school where I have worked in the past as a TA. I think it went quite well there were things I could have done better but thats not suprising after being out of the classroom for a while I was just wondering if you could give me some top tips for stories to use with this age group as I took on board someone from the forums advice and didn't read the book they are reading at the moment and told a story of my own, but this is the only one I know by heart at the moment. Could you throw a few titles and authors at me if you have any up your sleeve. Thanks. Hope you don't think I'm stupid but I'm moving from secondary to primary and need as many tips as poss!!

Nutty's right, Horrid Henry are a must.

Sherlock Holmes goes down quite well.

Oh and Roald Dahl if you're in for a week anywhere.

Year 3s like Worst Witch and Dilly the Dinosaur too. Mine like Michael Morpurgo (year 4), and the Horrible History etc books.
