Default Class teachers hardly ever leaving work for me

Hi, I'm quite newish to supply and work for an agency. Some jobs are short notice and some are over a week in advance but I am hardly ever left work by the class teacher. I have a few resources and lesson plans for each year group but these are stretching quite thin now. Is this quite a normal occurence or am I just being unlucky?

the TA or other teachers in the year group for any planning. If theres still none then use your own or do something based on the topics they are studying.

There are plenty of resources on this site that are very useful to print off and have in your bag as emergency resources so well worth using a few hrs trawling through and printing some off.

Anyway good luck with it and look forward to chatting to you more.

Hi and welcome to the site. That's not usually too common with me, as in planning not being left. I was called in last week as someone was off ill and the planning was pinned to the wall so it was okay, also the other yr group teacher gave me

I have to admit to still carrying a big bag around with resources for each yr group and books for different ages etc, one day I will leave it at home but for now it happens to be my security blanket

I've been doing supply for 2 & half years now & find it can be a bit hit & miss! Some schools are excellent in general at leaving work for supply teachers, others don't really seem to know what's going on! I tend to keep a few things up my sleeves just in case there isn't any set, as has been the case sometimes when I've been told work has been left!
