We've just had a thing about that at school - they needed all our numbers cos they've only just worked out that they are supposed to have records of us. I'm sure a note went up on the board to say that you can get it off GTC, in exchange for your NI number. I may be wrong, because I didn't take much notice - as an on-the-spectrum organised person I know where all my numbers and bits of paper are at a moments notice!
