I didn't realise you could join them all!

I spoke to someone at ATL to cancel membership, asked why I was leaving, told them, and they really had no comment! I've had to put it in writing for them. Said I couldn't support the work agreement with CSs/HLTAs for a number of reasons:

My workload has dropped 75%
I am not being respected as a professional
TAs were being used, not just HLTAs
Children want/need/should be entitled to a qualified teacher for every lesson
Children who were awarded TA/HLTA support, were losing it, as the TAs/HLTAs were offering/being asked to cover lessons
Art does count!
History does count!
Some schools are letting TAs take these lessons.
Not Lit/Num/Sci, they're far too important.
So is PSHE! So is Circle Time! So is ICT!

Rant over.

I spoke to a lady at NUT, before joining, who agreed, on behalf of the NUT, with everything I said. The NUT aren't against teachers having PPA etc., but they are against the use of unqualified staff taking whole lessons.
