Hi just seen this thread. When i completed my teacher training in June this year I tried to claim JSA as i had no work and did not know when i would get some. However i was told because i had not worked in the last 2 years i could not claim. Am i being fobbed off or is this correct? Ive spoken to loads of people and they think i should get it.

Hi, it is probably because you haven't paid enough National Insurance with you being in training and not working. If you don't have a partner working full time or significant savings you might be able to apply for income based JSA but if not they are probably right. You can always appeal the decisions if you don't agree or if you just want more explanation.
