I learned Makaton many years ago during inclusion classes with a local SEN school.
I now use it frequently during pre-school teaching (my Thursday and Friday jobs) and I love it! Makaton is very easy for the children to pick up as most of it 'makes sense'.
It is like any language though - you need to use it frequently otherwise you forget it (although for some very strange reason, I can still remember the Latin verbs I learned when I was 12!!) To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I've never really tried BSL although I know the alphabet. I would love to be able to have a full conversation across a crowded pub using sign language! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
