Er... no good with KS1 myself, but I use a lot of clapping rhythms (I start and the children follow, listening coz they know I'll change the rhythm / slap / click etc. soon enough without warning and they don't want to be the last to change), and also:

then tell them they can choose if I catch them listening to me (all point to ears), watching me (all point to eyes) and with their hands on their laps (exactly!) They love it!
