Apparently I didn't pay enough national insurance during 2004/2005. Rather unfair I think - I didn't pay national insurance because I wasn't earning anything, therefore I need something now even more!

, I know, but it works for me (and them)). Didn't sign on, probably should have done as they now tell me they would have paid my national insurance. Jan 2005 onwards, was working, therefore paying NI. Shouldn't the LEA have been paying my contributions while I did my PGCE?
I don't know, I'm completed bemused by the whole thing. All I understand is that I have no money and aren't going to.
