Leics C.C. has a form which I have to fill in with school, times, N I no etc. the head has to sign it, agree the hours and put in the school code. I take the form away with me and use the same form at the next school. This has to be sent to County Hall every second Friday and I am paid 3 weeks later straight into my bank account. I get a pay advice at home and I have an employment number. I used to think it was a bit of a bind because I used to have to find the boss or deputy at the end of the day when normally they are busy with parents/staff meetings and I found it a bit humiliating. I have now found that if I give my form to the secretary each morning they can usually get the boss's signature during the day.

I have to be organised with this because if I am not I don't get the money!!

Also I have now got 4 CRB checks for 4 individual schools. Leics has its own contracted Teaching Agency but the only thing good about joining that agency is that Leics paid for a 5th CRB check which covers all Leics schools.

Last September there was no work and I became rather down about it and that's when I started touting for business.

Interestingly, Leics Supply Agency (Reed) was advertising last week for people to work with them recruiting supply teachers and putting them out to work.

Now there's a thought!!
